Keeping ‘on-target’ with the KSU elements of the Internship Experience:  It would be easy to get so thoroughly immersed in the day-to-day components of your 'real job as a beginning school psychologist' that you put on the back-burner any thought about the KSU requirements for the internship. To do so would be a major mistake. The internship training experience is governed by a set of academic as well as experiential expectations — each of which need to be referenced on a regular basis. Now is a good time to give some thought to the 'big picture' of what it takes to be successful on internship.

Frankly, there have been instances in the past when a few folks indicated surprise well into the Internship Year about the nature of the requirements and expectations to which they were being held. We do not want a repeat of that scenario. Nor do you. So, it is IMPERATIVE that you review with extraordinary care the Syllabus and related files that I have gathered at this location to make easier your task of understanding the requirements. There is a linked set of files on this server — browse them and be sure that you have a clear sense of the faculty expectations & deadlines. Regardless of your training-site these are common across all interns. Most are required of all interns in the Ohio system, regardless of the training university. These are required to be completed successfully before you will be recommended for a credential post-internship.  Read them and note where you need additional clarification.  Do not presume that this analysis can be left 'till later.

A Need for Clarification of the Internship Requirements? Please advise either FS or CSM if there are any requirements that need elaboration or clarification. And, don't forget to keep us informed if there are circumstances that cause you any concern in the training experience. When problems arise, it is far easier to handle issues if we can get involved early, rather than later.
